For your need to stream Crunchyroll and Netflix in the comfort of your sleep chamber, the refurbished Apple MacBook Air (M1) is a good choice. It has fanless architecture; it doesn't has air intakes that would intake blanket fibers or overheat when placed on soft surfaces, ensuring smooth experience during late night binges. It has a 13.3inch Retina display offers a pixel density that makes animation appear remarkably crisp without the unnecessary battery tax of a 4k panel, while the M1 silicon provides enough endurance to be able to watch an entire season on a single charge. For me, the Acer Aspire Go 15 is around $400–$450 i think. It comes with a 15.6-inch 1080p IPS display, 16GB of RAM, and a 512GB SSD, and the port selection is solid: USB-C charging, two USB-A ports, HDMI, and a headphone jack. Battery life can handle more than enough for a long anime binge. you can also check some of the budget laptops for 2026 in the link

I’m going to be straight with you—

There is only one laptop based on what you described, you’d actually be wasting money looking at most other options. And it's also not easily available try flipkart

You don’t need power, you don’t need 4K, and you definitely don’t need those “spec-heavy” laptops people usually recommend. What you need is something that’s reliable, has solid battery life, and a screen you can comfortably watch for hours—and that’s exactly where the Motobook 60 just makes more sense than anything else in this range.

I’ve been using it personally, and this is one of those rare cases where the experience matters way more than the specs. No random slowdowns, no heating issues while streaming, no constant charging stress—just smooth, consistent performance for exactly the kind of usage you mentioned.

Most people overthink this and end up buying something they’ll never fully use. This is one of those decisions where if you pick right the first time, you won’t even think about upgrading for years.

If your goal is simple—watching Crunchyroll/Netflix comfortably without headaches—then honestly, this isn’t just a good option… it’s the sensible one.

For users seeking a budget‑friendly laptop primarily for streaming content such as Netflix and Crunchyroll, comfort, performance reliability, and value for money are key considerations—especially during long, late‑night viewing sessions.

While refurbished ultra‑thin laptops like the Apple MacBook Air (M1) are often praised for their fanless design, excellent battery life, and crisp displays, they are not always the best fit for users who want greater versatility, upgrade potential, and stronger overall performance per peso/dollar.

✅ Recommended Option: Acer Nitro V / Nitro 5 (ANV15)

The Acer Nitro V/5 (ANV15) stands out as a more practical and future‑proof option in this budget range:

  • Superior Performance Headroom
Equipped with modern Intel or AMD CPUs paired with dedicated NVIDIA graphics (depending on configuration), the Nitro V/5 offers performance well beyond basic media consumption. This ensures smooth streaming today while remaining capable of casual gaming, multitasking, or productivity workloads in the future.
  • Effective Cooling for Bed or Desk Use
Unlike fanless designs, the Nitro series uses an active cooling solution designed to sustain longer workloads without thermal throttling. This allows consistent performance even during extended viewing sessions, provided it’s placed on a stable surface or cooling pad.
  • Larger, Immersive Display Options
The 15.6‑inch Full HD display delivers a more immersive viewing experience for anime and movies compared to smaller ultraportables. The resolution strikes a good balance between image sharpness and battery efficiency.
  • Better Value and Upgradeability
One of the Nitro V/5’s biggest advantages is expandability—RAM and storage can be upgraded later, extending the laptop’s usable lifespan. At a similar or slightly higher price point than refurbished premium laptops, you get brand‑new hardware with warranty support.
  • Cost‑Effective Availability
The Acer Nitro V/5 (ANV15) can often be found at competitive prices, especially during sales, making it an excellent choice for buyers who want maximum performance per budget rather than paying a premium for thinness or brand alone.

📌 Final Recommendation

For a user whose primary need is comfortable streaming but who also wants extra power, flexibility, and long‑term value, the Acer Nitro V/5 (ANV15) is the stronger recommendation. It provides a more versatile computing experience without sacrificing display quality or reliability—making it a smart, budget‑conscious choice for both entertainment and everyday use.

I asked him and he said he mostly plays arc raiders and borderlands. And "stuff like that".

So if the cheaper one can play those then that should be fine.

The Crosshair will absolutely play those titles, and then some. Happy Gaming and good luck to your son!

I found this if building isn't on your time table. I tried to stay to the same specs and capabilities. But this time I went for some pizzazz. :)

Comes with Win 11 preinstalled. Plus a mouse and keyboard. And is a bit future proof as well. Oh, and here is two choices for a 4k monitor to pair with it. OLED and a less expensive non OLED. [go with the oled ;)] Just don't forget to add the monitor you want twice to your cart for that crispy dual screen setup.

Enjoy!

The monitors look great, but I think I can get away with something a bit less powerful on the computer side. Could you please find me something suitable in the $1500-$2000 range?

This looks great, but can you find me something prebuilt?

Honestly that looks like a solid build. you shouldn't have any issues with cooling or power. If you're concerned about cooling I'd recommend at some point switching the case fans to Noctua and running some custom fan curves. But overall a solid build.
