Electrolyte Packet Alternative

I’m looking for a cheaper alternative to single-serve electrolyte packets. I’m a big fan of LMNT, but it’s very expensive and wasteful, since it only comes in single-serve packets.

LMNT provides recipes to mix your own electrolyte powder. You can buy the individual ingredients in bulk at a significant discount per serving. Mix these up in a batch for 50 or more servings and then combine with juice or another flavored drink powder. I like lemonade. The suggested salts will make 100s of servings.

  • ½ teaspoon salt provides about 1 gram sodium
  • 400 mg potassium chloride provides about 200 mg potassium
  • ¼ teaspoon of magnesium malate provides about 60 mg magnesium
